Shetland Bird Club has set up a 'Just Giving' page to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support. We're already over half way to our target of £1000, so if you twitched the Cape May Warbler, or the Pine Grosbeak, or the the Thick-billed Warbler, if you came for a birding holiday and if you enjoyed a warm welcome, please consider showing your gratitude by supporting this charity, which does sterling work in Shetland.
At the SBC committee meeting on Saturday 5th October, Gary Bell was elected the new Shetland Bird Club Chairman, taking over from George Petrie. We would like to say a huge thank you to George for his hard work over the last 5 years, and wish Gary the best of luck as Chairman.
On Saturday 5th October, Shetland Bird Club will present a talk celebrating its 40th anniversary: 'Five Decades Of Rare Moments - Presentations by the finders of rares'. The talk will start at 7.00 pm at the Lerwick Town Hall and will feature complimentary wine and nibbles!
